Giving Local helps people to pass on useful items they no longer need or want to others in the same town. The giver chooses an approved charity, school, fundraiser or good cause, and sets an optional minimum donation, and the person collecting the item makes a donation to that beneficiary. No cash changes hands — all donations are collected securely through the Giving Local app and paid directly to the chosen school, charity or good cause.

We will be going live soon. Charities, schools, PTAs, clubs, churches and community groups can pre-register now.

How Giving Local works

One local exchange. One chosen beneficiary.

Members belong to their town. Items are offered locally, the giver chooses who the donation supports, and the beneficiary is visible before anyone registers interest.

Members register and are attached to their local Giving Local area.

Add photos and a description, then set an optional minimum donation.

Choose a cause

Select an approved beneficiary. Its name and logo appear on the listing.

Collect locally

An interested member in the same town arranges collection — no postage needed.

Donation recorded

Funds are attributed to the chosen beneficiary and included in its scheduled payout.

Giving Local will be going live soon. Pre-register now so your charity, school, PTA, sports club, church, community group or other good cause can be reviewed and ready to appear as a beneficiary when we launch. Pre-registration does not guarantee approval.

What beneficiaries receive

Visibility on local listings, donation attribution, monthly statements and a clear payout history. Donations received in one month are scheduled for payout on the last day of the following month.

Example: donations received during September are scheduled for beneficiary payout on 31 October.

Approval before appearing in the app

Applications are reviewed before a cause can be selected by members. This protects users and prevents unverified fundraising pages appearing in the app.

Payout details

For security, bank details are collected after your application has been approved. Giving Local will verify the beneficiary before enabling payouts.
